De-Matting Service & Policy

Please be advised Hair of the Dog! grooming procedures and pricing do not include or reflect any de-matting services.  It is anticipated that your pets' coat is in good condition and free of mattes when they are dropped off for grooming appointment.  However, this is not always possible for a variety of circumstances.

If you have ever had the opportunity to try to remove any mattes from your beloved pet, you would agree it is an extremely difficult procedure. It is hard on your body physically and mentally, but also on your pet’s body.

As you may imagine, the de-matting process, depending on its severity would both be physically taxing on your pet as well as on the groomer.  Furthermore, any addition of de-matting would interfere with the entire grooming schedule for all clients and their pets for that day. 

At Hair of the Dog! the De-Matting Services are $60.00 per hour or portion therof.

The good news is  with the advent of new tools and procedures, the de-matting process is virtually a pain-free experience for your pet, but not the groomer.

As you may know we specialize in making the Greater Victoria Area a more beautiful place, one pet at a time.  We will do whatever it takes within reason, to prevent your beloved pet from leaving our salon hairless!
